Children’s work

We are thankful to God for the number of young people within our church and are glad to see them getting involved in different church activities, many of which are geared towards youth. Please find a brief description of each organisation below.

Please note- everyone in the church who works with young people has had an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland carried out.

Crèche

This takes place during the Sunday morning services for families with babies and young children up to the age of three.

Sunday School

There is a Junior Sunday School (for children aged between 3 and 7) and a Senior Sunday School (for children aged between 8 and 12). The children leave for Sunday School part way through the Family Service and divide into various groups where Bible teaching is brought to them at their own level, including activities, games and crafts.

From the money that the children bring each week to Sunday School we are able to sponsor a Pakistani Christian family and a child from an African Children’s choir.

7- 11 Club

The 7-11 Club is a very popular club for children aged between seven and eleven years of age who live in the local area. It is held in the church each Wednesday evening between 7.00pm and 8.30pm during the school term. Our evenings consist of teaching a memory verse and stories from the Bible in a fun and interesting way, completing worksheets, playing games (both clean and messy!!), taking part in craft activities and let’s not forget the all important tuck shop.
From the 50 pences that the children bring each week we have been able over the years to send money to children’s projects both at home and abroad.
This includes projects in Bolivia, Zambia, Yorkhill Children’s hospital, St Andrew’s Hospice and CHAS.
